Coconut anything is one of my favorites coconut water, coconut ice cream, opening a fresh coconut and drinking it, and we don’t use very many dairy products in our home so naturally coconut milk. Then what is next on my list is coconut oil. It has so many uses that can help replace other man-made products in your home and chemicals you put onto your body. Here are my top five ways to use coconut oil.
In the Shower
Keep a container of coconut oil in the shower and before you towel dry apply it into your skin while it’s still wet. It will help seal in the moisture and leave your skin so soft. For added softness to your skin use baking soda as a scrub before using the coconut oil. Coconut oil helps reduce fine lines and cellulite, and is very moisturizing and has natural SPF to protect from the sun. Then just towel off as usual.
Add in for Smoothies
Oil pulling helps pull the toxins out of your mouth. Doing this will help improve the health of your teeth and gums. After flossing, brushing and rinsing your mouth out, put one tablespoon of coconut oil into your mouth and swish it around they recommend 10-20 minutes the trick is NOT to swallow it. Remember it’s pulling all the toxins out of your mouth, so you do not want to ingest that! If you need to start with two minutes, then five and so on go that route. Then after rinse with salt water. Your mouth will thank you.
Makeup Brush Cleaner
Instead of using harsh chemicals to clean your make up brushes. Rub coconut oil into the brushes let them sit for about two hours to kill the bacteria then wash them off well. Its okay if a little oil is left on the brush won’t hurt the skin or the makeup.
