Baking soda is a powerful multi-use miracle powder. I always thought it was just for baking but little did I know what a powerhouse it was. I try to replace things in my beauty routine as much as I can with natural options as opposed to putting a ton of chemicals into my body or on my skin. It saves quite a bit of money and is a healthier option. Here are my top five favorite ways to work baking soda into your everyday routine.
Soothe Upset Stomach
Mix half of a teaspoon of baking soda into an 8 oz glass of water and drink. It will neutralize the acidity in your stomach and calm it down. You can redo this every four hours if needed.
Put one to two handfuls of baking soda into your bath tonight and will help alkalize your body by pulling out all the toxins while you soak. Soaking in this will also help relieve eczema and soothe sunburns.
Exfoliate Your Skin
Mix about two parts baking soda to one part water and rub on your skin. It helps to exfoliate the dead skin cells just as well as the expensive exfoliates at a fraction of the cost and all natural. It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.
You can either use this by itself by wetting your toothbrush and dipping git into the baking soda or if that is to harsh you can mix a little into your toothpaste and it helps to take off the build up tarter on your teeth.
The baking soda might change the PH level of your scalp so be careful if you have a sensitive scalp. Start by getting your hair wet combine one part baking soda with three parts of water and just like the body scrub rub the paste thru focusing on the roots of your hair and leave in one to three minutes. Then you can stay all natural by following it with an Apple cider vinegar rinse.
These are very simple ways to stay away from all the chemicals that fill our regular beauty routine regimes. Hopefully, you found one or more that you like and works for you. Let me know how it works for you!
